Source: I’ve owed and have hit pretty much every sovereignty perc there is. Don’t get me wrong china is good but it’s china but if you don’t have the funds to afford a sovereignty then china would definitely be good substitute. It’s like comparing a Ferrari to a Honda, yea they both get you from point A to point B but one will get you there way faster and with a more luxurious experience. Steve Coryden the owner of Sovereignty glass has created top of the line glass and craftsmanship plain and simple and the demand is insane. I’m not trying to hate just setting facts straight. There is a huge following of sovereignty glass collectors even bigger then illidelph. If you know about sovereignty then you should know that. They still continue to produce the stemline, gline, three line, gridcaps, imperial, inverted 4, fixed 4, 180 grid, 360 grid and the list goes on. Sovereignty can’t keep a tube on the shelf let alone have back inventory lol china has no effect on sovereignty’s sales.
they also fucntion great i notice no difference as theres not much room for a difference by design. on the sovs you get wet mouth if you rip it hard even with ice. With that said i think the dhgate ones are actually better than the sovs simply becasue they have that maria that stops the bubbles. naive people see these videos and are like it bubbles has a big price tag so must be great right? but thats not the case at all and as far as i know sov no longer makes these anymore as they had a very large inventory that didnt sell after china introduced the matrix clone percs.
weve been seeing a large influx of people posting videos on instagram of their old sovs with generally the intent to sell them. even a slited shower head perc is alot more practical and gives nearly the same function. Inlines are old tech both the matrix and up facing sol give better diffusion have a much lighter pull dont clog nearly as easy and give identical fucntion in its tiny bubble stacking but also add other favorable additional effects as well. So I thought I would turn it over to the sub: What is it about the "proprietary design" that makes these so awesome, and why haven't we seen a china clone yet? Or do we have one already, in the above linked option, and we are just waiting for a clear straight tube? Any thoughts at all?
I honestly do not know anything about higher end glass. Here is a pic to compare: the left side is a pic of a sovereignty piece from and the other is the red one from dhgate.īut hey, maybe that is essentially what the sovereignty gridded perc is, just with clear glass, and these are a fairly good recreation. But they look questionable to me, like maybe they just slapped some colored glass dots on a slitted perc. I know that there are those red and yellow ones that always get linked. But we don't seem to have a good chinaglass option.Īnd I could be wrong, but I think the issue might be that china hasn't been able to re-create the " proprietary gridline perc". And I personally agree that these pieces look beautiful in their simplicity and function. I've been seeing a lot of posts on this sub of people looking for Sovereignty straight tube gridline or stemline clones. Mostly copied from a comment of mine in another thread.
